Play Throwing at the County Fair
Throwing at the County Fair is a 40-second aiming game set at a fairground stall. Targets pop up on the shelves, you throw a ball at them, and the wind pushes your throw sideways. The more targets you topple, the better your prize.
Controls
- Mouse: move to aim and click to throw.
- Touch: tap where you want to throw.
- The speaker button in the corner turns the sound on and off.
The wind
The balls are light, so your throw drifts with the wind. A sign shows how strong it is, up to 9 metres per second. Targets on the farther shelves are smaller and the ball is in the air longer, so the drift is much bigger the farther back you aim. Read the sign and aim off to the side to make up for it.
Targets and prizes
Targets pop up at random and stay up for only 2 seconds. A target can only be hit once it has risen part of the way. When time is up, your number of toppled targets decides your prize:
- 0 or more: Consolation Ticket
- 3: Participation Ribbon
- 6: Goldfish in a Bag
- 10: Giant Lollipop
- 14: Teddy Bear
- 18: Rainbow Unicorn
- 24: Golden Trophy
Tips
- Check the wind before every throw. The sign shows what it is doing right now, so do not assume it matches your last throw.
- Near targets are the easy ones. They are bigger and drift the least, so take them first when they appear.
- Do not wait for a perfect shot. With only 2 seconds a target is gone before you finish thinking, so a quick, reasonable throw usually beats a careful one.
- Watch your accuracy. The results screen shows it next to your personal best, which tells you whether you are missing because of the wind or because of your aim.
